helping to improve the quality of life for those with Multiple Sclerosis and their families

Stepping up for MS serves the Metro Detroit Area and provides grants and volunteer services to help those with Multiple Sclerosis maintain family and seasonal traditions.

I have 2 sisters with Multiple Sclerosis.
I see how hard it is for them to keep up with seasonal and family events. I realized there are many people struggling with MS who deal with these issues. I started this non-profit organization to bring together volunteers and local businesses to donate their time & talents toward improving the quality of life for local residents with MS.  We now offer grants to help cover some of the costs associated with MS.

What We Do
We focus on providing Metro Detroit area residents with Multiple Sclerosis a way to continue family and seasonal traditions by organizing volunteers and local businesses to provide services in and around the home.

These services could include:
• planting flowers
• spring holiday preparation
• finding ways to beat the heat
• end of season leaf rake
• holiday decorating, wrapping, or baking

We recently shopped for party supplies so that a mother could throw a birthday party for her 11 yr. old son.  A simple thing for our volunteers, but a huge task for someone in a wheelchair!

Stepping Up For MS now offers grants of up to $800.00 to help cover the costs associated with MS, including (but not limited to) ADA compliant home modifications, mental health therapy, physical therapy and home health care.  Please download the application from our website, or contact Laraine Larkin to have one sent to you.
